PTA Fundraising

Heifer International

What is Heifer? Heifer International (www.heifer.org) is a nonprofit organization working to end hunger and poverty and save the earth through gifts of farm animals and training. Families who receive donations from Heifer agree to "pass on the gift" by donating their animal's offspring to others in need. This creates an ever-expanding network of hope and self-reliance. In the past 65 years, millions of people in over 128 countries have benefited from Heifer programs.

How are we helping? Students bring in spare change (or bills) from home and deposit them in their class coin jar. Each week, classes can cash in their money to "buy" an animal, or they can continue saving to donate a more expensive animal later on. The bulletin board farm by the school office will show our progress. Parents can make a matching gift, too - by donating an animal on behalf of their child's class, matching the class's coin total, or simply pledging a flat dollar amount. Matching Contribution Form 2012

The kids really get excited about this project, and it's a great way for them to see how small donations add up to very meaningful help for people in need.

Change the world with spare change!

Silent Auction – March 23, 2012, Woodend Audubon Nature Sanctuary

This is our largest fundraiser of the year! This adult-only evening is a fun, community building event. We hope you can join us. For more information, check out 2012 RHPS Silent Auction. or go to our Facebook page.

Grocery Store Receipts Program

Shopping at Giant and Safeway can benefit RHPS when you register your store savings card for the benefit of RHPS. Our Giant school code is 00908, and our Safeway code is 6559537. Collecting Snider’s and Chevy Chase Market receipts can also benefit the school. For more details, please read this flyer.

General Mills Box Tops

Collect Box Tops for Education labels on General Mills products to yield funds for Rosemary Hills. For more information, visit Box Top for Education.

ESCRIP

Another easy way to support RHPS this year is to sign up with escrip.com. A percentage of your purchases at Safeway and other local merchants will be donated to RHPS, at no cost to you (similar to the Giant Bonus Bucks program). For more information: http://escrip.com.

The Rainbow Fund

The PTA decided NOT to sell Sally Foster gift wrap last year. Instead, we launched a special fundraising campaign - The Rainbow Fund! We were thrilled to to announce last year that this fund raised $60,000! We were amazed at the speed of our community's response and the generosity of the donations, which far exceeded our goal. Thank you all for contributing to this success.

The PTA continues to use this money to fund the many programs that benefit our school community throughout the year, such as:

In addition, the Rainbow Fund is funding critical technology upgrades for the school. We purchased 8 new Promethean Boards for classroom use, as well as other instructional tools. Most of this equipment is already in place, so that Rosemary Hill's teachers now have better resources and our children are enjoying lessons that are even more fun and successful. We could not have done it without you!!
