Playground Renovation--Phase 2 Begins this Summer
We are adding another playground structure to the RHPS playground! Based on our fundraising last year and some additional donations we received this school year, we have enough money to add more playground equipment this summer.
We will be replacing the "wooden" structure at the edge of the playground (closest to the street) with this brand new structure (see this image). We will also be adding 2 new benches near the black top.
Since the spring of 2007, we have raised over $60,000 and with additional support from MCPS we have added close to $85,000 worth of playground equipment. It has really made a difference in our school and, most importantly, the students love it!
Again, we want to thank ALL of the RHPS FAMILIES whose contributions made this equipment possible. We also received very generous support last year from the Town of Chevy Chase, The Village of Chevy Chase, Chevy Chase Village section 5 and Chevy Chase Village section 3. We have had continued support from our contact with MCPS, Pam Montgomery and our representative at Playground Specialists, Jeff Barber has been awesome!
When Phase 2 of the renovation is completed, that will end our Playground Renovation campaign. Please direct any future donations to the general PTA fund.
