Meridian International Center visits RHPS
On Tuesday, Januray 26, our children enjoyed special assemblies presented by cultural consultants from Meridian International Center. Here's just an example of some of the things they learned and saw...
- Salsa dancing with Ms. Carmela
- pictures of Arenal one of the ten most active volcanoes in the world at night drew "oohs" and "ahhs"
- they learned how mothers from Togo carry their babies
- they learned that a typical breakfast for children in Togo before they go to school is a mashed sweet potato soup called foufou.

Potomac Pizza Community Night
Thank you to all who joined us at Potomac Pizza on November 16, 2009. We raised over $560.00 for the PTA. A special thanks to Potomac Pizza for supporting us.

Who among us with children doesn’t have a need for wrapping paper, note cards, or small gifts, perfect for the bus driver, your child’s teacher, or someone special in your life. Be it for the Saturday morning birthday parties, or the holidays, buying and selling Sally Foster wrapping paper is a no brainer for most of us. Our goal this year for Sally Foster is to raise $10,000 through this fundraiser. Fifty percent of every purchase goes directly to the RHPS PTA. The school has asked us to post some information on this website, including the Authorization to Administer Prescribed Medication form and information concerning head lice.
Playground Renovation
In 2007, the RHPS PTA began a very successful fundraising campaign that allowed us to renovate two sections of the upper and lower playground areas. Since the spring of 2007, we raised over $60,000 and with additional support from MCPS, we have added close to $85,000 worth of playground equipment to our school. It has really made a difference in our school, and most importantly, the students love it!
We want to thank all the RHPS families whose contributions made this equipment possible. We also received very generous support from the Town of Chevy Chase, the Village of Chevy Chase, Chevy Chase Village Section 3 and Chevy Chase Village Section 5. We have had continued support from our contact with MCPS, Pam Montgomery, and our representative at Playground Specialists.
